For this Week, my work is pretty much the same. Here's is the list of my work:

  • I have to complete my report translation from English to Bahasa Malaysia. The report about the online advertising.
  • Doing a new task: Which is to make a a list for the most frequently ask question for the interview session. (task is given by: En Azree bin Yahaya)
  • Distribute the Asset (camera) to the employee-in charge in the district planner(perancang bandar) department..
  • Prepare for meeting: set-up the projector and laptops for the meeting.
  • Seek for approval for the meal preparation form from the management department.
  • Photocopy document.

As for today, My work as usual is to distribute memo's and letter to others department. Photocopying a few document for report documentation.

My new task for today is to do a translation on the PowerPoint slide that i done before.
"A Whack on The Side of The Head" From English to Bahasa Malaysia.

I also continue the translation work for my report.

Day 27.

Today first thing in this morning ,i have to compile the IT Bulletin and distributed it to all department in Mps. I also have to send the letter and memo to other department.

The new task of the day is to create a presentation slide based on the book "Whack of the Side of The Head: How to Unlock Your Mind For Innovation"
. This book is a motivation book that give an idea to developed a creative, Outside of the box idea!. For the record, this task is assign by my head of department.

Today is the completion day for my analysis review for RFS statistic. I complete the task by arranging the data and graph that we made, it is to make it more organize and easy to understand.

After that i have to assist the administration department to help them to input the data of their staff. My task is to be a photographer of the day.
hee..
My job is quite easy actually. I just have to stay at one place and taking a passport size picture of all staff of the Vector department. (^-^)

then, i continue my translation work for the research~

Early in the morning, i have to setup the laptop at level 8 for HRMIS purpose..
Set the IP and make sure it is connected.

After that i continue my RFS analysis. I have to create table to indicate the value of the RFS request by department in every month from January 2008 until November 2008. Next, i have to create the graf for graphical aid to make it more understandable and practical. The graf then can be manipulate to create the presentation report.

That's not all, i also have to do a translation Work! huhu..
the report that we make for the online advertising research have to be translate to B.Malaysia.

Early in the morning i already have a new task to do. Ms Azzah assign me and my partner ain mokhtar to do a statistic review on the RFS (Request for services). It is to review the problem that usually occur in the department and the higher request made by each department. In order to start the statistic, first i have to sort out the RFS by department and then divide in in two section, wether it is for maintenance (penyelenggaraan) or development (pembangunan)..

Before i even start the analysis , i have a last minute assigment, which is to prepare the we
bmail notes for the seminar. I have to photocopy the document and then assemble the document. I have have to finish it as soon as possible since the seminar started at 9 a.m.

Then, i have to do a documentation for the new hardware and collect the serial number for new hardware. I also have to do a copy for the RFS completion of service form.


After that, i continue the analysis.. For today, i juz manage to cover from Januari unti Julai Statistic, The rest, i'll keep for tomorrow.

Today is the 23rd day working as Internship in Majlis Perbandaran Selayang. So far it's been a meaningful experience for me to learn the organisational culture and behaviour. How the work being done around here and how the management coordinate their resources since it is quite a large organisation.

As for today, Not much work in the office. Just doing ordinary office work such as photocopy document, sending memo to other staff who invlove in the webmail seminar for next week.

The most exciting part is we get to treat ourself with KFC~~
hehe.. It is actually the last day of internship for my fellow internship member in this department. It is Hazwan, Ruslan, Mohd Noor and Aisyah. So, we have a little feast for us to celebrating the farewell and the beginning of the new semester for them. . Cheers!~~

As for today, not much work to do.. Most of the staff is still on leave. And I just continuing my research and more research. =)

After celebrating Hari Raya Haji for only 1 day, it feels hard to leave the festive mood. I have to work for today~..
huhu..

So, here i'm reporting for the 21st day working at MPS.
As for today, the office is very quite since many of the staff has continuing the holiday and at the same time finishing their annual leave.

Early of the day we set up the laptop at level 8 hall. It is for the system training again

After that i've been assigned to format a few PC that not being used by the staff anymore. This Pc then will be placed at Pusat Siber Rakyat. This is a very new experience to me. As the IT student, i'm quite ashamed of myself because I didnt know how to format a pc! hoho..

Luckily, the staff and some other intern are really helpfull and demonstrate how to format the pc. There's actually many ways to format a pc. And i just used the normal and conventional way which is by using the set up wizard. Please dont ask me more about it. Its totally new experience and i still learning. need more practice for me to really master this skill. =)
I arrived at the the office around 7.40. As usual, we need to set up the laptops for the HRMIS training at the hall. I have to set the IP and make sure the wireless connection is properly connected.

The research continues.. For now i need to find a few case study to compare and developed a new set of ideas.

Other jobs that i done today is normal office work such as photocopy a few set of document.

End of this week~~
Today is my 19th days working as Intern in Mps. So far, all the job is doing just fine. and for today, mps still having training for HRMIS system. As usual i need to set up the training environment and setup the ip address.

In the afternoon, i have to send the reply report for the RFS service. This is to inform the staff that the problem already been fixed and the detailed of the services. There's a lot of it! huhu..
so, i have to increase my stamina and went to almost off all the department to send the report.

Today, Mps are conducting a training seminar to the staff according to the new system call HRMIS. It is stands for human resource management information system. This is for the staff familiar with the system and know how to utilizes the system. So, my job is to team up with other intern to set-up the training environment. Arrange the laptop accordingly and make sure it is connected with the intranet. We have to set the IP address to make sure it is the right connection.

and as usual, i have to photostat invoice from the supplier and other document,

As the research continues, today we need to compile the research and submit to the head of department. We also need to prepare a new set of presentation slide which is in Bahasa Malaysia. This is mean that we have to translate the slide into bahasa melayu.
Its also can help our communication skill in both English and Bahasa.

For today, me and other interns need to present our research to the head of department and our respective supervisor. The presentation running smoothly and everyone have the chances to give out their opinion about other research. The topic that being discussed that day is about online advertising and how it can be use as a promotion medium and all about data recovery plan and process.
After the presentation, all of the supervisor is given time to review
and comment our presentation. The comment and idea from the supervisor are very useful and can be adapt in my class presentation.

Today I and Ain mokhtar manage to complete the research on online advertising on the social networks. We manage to do the documentation and the powerpoint about the research. In the evening, we have show it to our head of department and he satisfied with it. Then, he asked us to compile it with the previous research that we have done it. Thank goodness we manage to complete it according to the timeline he gave.

As for today, i have to finish and compile the document
ation about my research. We also need to prepare the presentation slide for my presentation on the next day.

I also study more about the system. to understanding the work flow of the system.
Here is the brief explanation about the system.

System Name: Akaun Kena Bayar (MAPAY)

This system is developed by ORACLE database and ORACLE Development tools. IT is been developed to give the up-to-date information about the payment management in the process to to make a decision for improving the effectiveness and the efficiency of the local law enforcement (PBT)

In is intergrated from a basis of sharing concept, where the information being add at one sub-system, it can be use by other sub-system who in need of the information. For example, This system can check whether the budget is enough for the payment that need to be made. It is from the
budget system.

The Abilities:
  1. To coordinate the PBT payment info
  2. Help the management deal with the computerize payment
  3. generate the need of information such as invoice, deposite, staff claim, staff contract payment an etc.
  4. To make the process of payment become easy and fast.
  5. Intergrated with the budget System where the budget management and payment are within the budget.
  6. To help generate multi type report to help the management to evaluate and making a decision.

Today is the most nerve racking experience. My academic supervisor want to visit me. So, I dunno what to expect from the visit. I'll be informed that i need to do a presentation about all the work that i done here. So i have to prepare a sideshow.

My academic supervisor arrived at 10 a.m. Then we discuss with my industrial supervisor at the meeting room. First, i have to present my slide and Pn Siti Hajar seems to understand about my daily basis work.

She also discuss with Pn Zalina who is my industrial supervisor to give suggestion about my work scope. Even thought I'm not realy good in programming, i can still be expose with the existing system, so that i can understand more about the system itself.

Then after the meeting, Pn Zalina Give me the manual book of the payable system. I have to understand about the system before using it.
The third week continue~~

As for today, i need to continue my research.
i realise that, when the more i search about the topic, i become more familiar with the subject
. I hope all the work will run smoothly and my understanding will increase.

For the added value, Me and Nur Ain was taught by the head of department about the leadership skill and how our appearance will affect our credibility from the outside and other perception.

hehe...
I remain calm to keep my cool. hehe.. Actually, i'm a bit nervous..
we never know, What my boss will comment about..
i thought we just only present it to my head of department, but then my boss also invite the other intern to watch my presentation.
My boss quite happy with the end result. But he wants us to extend the research to the online advertising through social network.
After the presentation, i have to attend to other department to complete the procedure of lost asset.
This is because there is a case of lost of computer hardware. To complete the procedure they have to fill the form. And IT department will take further action.

As for today, i have to compile all the graphical aid that I n my partner Ain have done.
All of it must be arrange accordingly.
Suddenly my boss give me the news that i have to present all my finding tomorrow,
So, i have to prepare for tomorrow presentation..

for today, my head of department give me a new task.
which is to make a graphical aid for the cost finding that i manage to gather early on this week.
a lot of graph and chart need to be done by today.
I also has to attend the other department request for the new cartridge and other new hardware that they need. (^-^)
I arrive at my office at 7.40 a.m..
i wonder, what else i could do today.
then i assigned to distributed memo to other department about the seminar about the application of the new web mail among workers. i have to go to each department to inform about the news.
i do my office work as usual, photocopy and other stuff.

as for today, i'm doing my regular office work. But the most exciting part is, i'm scheduled to manage MPS community centre (Pusat Siber Rakyat). My duty start from 12 pm till 5 pm. A lots of new things that i learn for today. I learn to use the cyber cafe management system, how to deal with customer and the procedure regarding to the services.

i must say dat today is very tiring.
I have to do some research about online advertising. To compare between online advertisement and keyword search marketing. All the research documentation must be submitted today to my head of department. So due to the time constraint, i have to do my work as fast as possible to make sure dat i didnt miss the dateline.. And luckily my boss is quite happy with my work. No complaining so far. (^-^)

without supervisor around, i've been assign by my head of department to review the Information Technology Instruction that given by Malaysian Administrative Modernisation and Management Planning Unit (MAMPU) . This instruction is to be implement in all goverment sector.
by reviewing this Instruction, i have to summarize and make a proposal on how to implement this IT Instruction to MPS.

HI again!.
For the second day of work..
As i mention earlier my supervisor are still have to attend seminar.
Not really have a big project yet. Juz doing a normal office work.
I have to finish the documentation process for the new hardware. It is to went to other department and write down any information needed about the new hardware.

Today, i have to report at management department at 8 am.
first, i have to fill in a few form and signing an understanding letter of the company policy & regulation. when arriving in IT department, we meet with the head of department. He Introduce me to my supervisor. Then my supervisor introduce us with the other staff in the IT department. They seems to be friendly. Unfortunately, my supervisor need to rush for her seminar. She'll be out from office for 3 days. So, because of dat i didnt really have much work to do..
huhu..

here is short description about my first day :
  • Learning how to receive report or complain from the other department by phone.
  • Photostat report.
  • Visit other department to complete the new hardware documentation. (it is to make sure that the staff receive the new pc/ups/monitor/printer)

They already reply our application and send it via fax to Pn Laili Abdullah.

At this organisation i'm assign to work at IT department. Where i can improve my IT Skill. I'll learn more about Web management, system, network and other related element.

After the interview, i'm accepted to do an Internship at CIMB Wealth Advisor.
At this company, the are more focusing on business application. We'll learn how to communicate with client, do a presentation, report. It doesnt require much of my IT skill.
For the confirmation of internship placement at CIMB Weatlh Advisor, we need to attend an interview.
